Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola broke down in tears as another Key Manchester City player goes off injured during International break training this night, a very sad moment for Manchester City fans as the injury seems to be a career ending injury
Following his apparent limp out of Norway’s training, Erling Haaland has given Manchester City a serious injury worry.
For the international break, City’s players have taken to the skies this week, but it appears that Pep Guardiola has already suffered a serious setback.
Social media users posted video on Tuesday that seemed to show Haaland hobbling off the pitch during a Norway training session.
The striker’s foot stress injury caused him to miss 12 games in December and January.
At the end of January, he made a comeback to the game, but while exercising with his international colleagues, he appeared to be uncomfortable.
The first match for City following the international break is a crucial Premier League match on March 31 against Arsenal.
The treble champions will play Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Luton Town in the league in April. They will also play Real Madrid in a two-leg Champions League quarterfinal match and Chelsea in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
One point behind leaders Arsenal and Liverpool in the league standings, Guardiola’s team is now in third place.
With 18 goals in 23 games this season, Haaland is poised to earn the Premier League Golden Boot for a second consecutive year.
The Norwegian sensation broke the record for the most goals scored by a player in a single Premier League season last season with 36 league goals.
Over the course of 34 appearances across all competitions this season, Haaland has scored 29 goals and supplied six assists.
Over the course of the following week, Haaland is expected to play in Norway’s friendly against Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
When asked directly this week about Haaland’s anticipated participation in the two friendlies, Guardiola responded, “He is not my player anymore going forward; whatever they decide will be fine.”
“They are aware that getting to this point required a great deal of training, adrenaline, and focus in addition to a great deal of fighting. They are aware that these are friendly games, therefore they must play them sensibly. I hope they succeed.”
