Former Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has announced he is returning to football in shock announcement this evening

The legendary Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United has joined Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt for life.

When Ferguson managed Aberdeen in a UEFA Cup match against Frankfurt back in 1979, Aberdeen lost 2-1 on aggregate.

In the Europa Conference League group stage this season, Frankfurt was scheduled to play Aberdeen, and before their 2-0 loss at Pittodrie in December, a delegation from the German team paid Ferguson a visit.

The illustrious former manager was revealed as Frankfurt’s newest lifelong member.

Ferguson discussed his conflict with Frankfurt in an interview on their website while he was the manager of Aberdeen.

“Frankfurt were the better team, but we saved the game [first leg] with an equaliser,” Ferguson stated. “We had the opportunity to go to Frankfurt, but we were defeated 1-0 there. The goal in the second game that eliminated us from the competition was scored by Bernd Holzenbein.

“We played overseas, and I took away a valuable lesson. Several players left the game early. I took steps to ensure that such an incident never occurred again after that.”

Ferguson, a former manager of Scotland’s national team and a proud Scot, is looking forward to his country’s summertime match against host Germany at Euro 2024.

Ferguson scoffed when asked if Germany had a chance to defeat Scotland, saying, “No chance!

“I plan to watch the live game. I must see it. You know, Scotland’s not all that horrible. Their midfielders and both of their full-backs are strong. Only at the striker position have there been challenges recently.

“The Scottish supporters will also be great. I shall never forget the Italian World Cup of 1990 in this way. I was at a Scotland match during the group stage when I noticed a large bus leaving Glasgow. They were grilling on the double-decker bus after removing the roof. Walking past the bus was the only route to reach the stadium. Naturally, they noticed me and yelled, “Alex!” Come on over, we’ve got a grill ready for you!

“The Scottish supporters are outstanding. The kilt is what makes them and Scottish life so wonderful. In Scotland, each town and football team have their own distinct identity. Everyone has it on. Although I won’t be wearing it at the European Championships, I’m excited about the competition.”
