England Manager Gareth Southgate has responded to rumours linking him with the Manchester United if Erig Ten Hag get Sacked

During a press conference on Friday, England manager Gareth Southgate responded emphatically to being linked to the Manchester United position.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a stakeholder in United, reportedly made the Three Lions manager his first pick to take over at Old Trafford this summer. This information was reported earlier this week.
The FA is anxious to lock Southgate down to a new contract because his current one with the national team expires in December.

It is reported by the Daily Star that Ratcliffe, however, is becoming ‘increasingly confident’ of being able to entice Southgate to United after being impressed by his work with England.
The Premier League may have to pay roughly £800,000 in compensation to get Southgate, who is favoured to succeed Erik ten Hag in the event that he is released of his duties.
However, with a lot of conjecture around his future, Southgate has made the decision to openly confront reports of a potential move to Manchester United.

Before Saturday’s friendly match against Brazil, he stated, “There are two things from my point of view.”
“One is that I manage England. Basically, my only task is to attempt to win a European Championship; Manchester United already has a manager.
“I consider it to be completely demeaning to have a manager in there at all. That kind of thing takes up too much of my time.

If United or any other team is interested, they will have to wait as Southgate will not speak with any interested parties prior to this summer’s European Championship.

In light of continuing rumours, Manchester United defender Harry Maguire asked the former Middlesbrough and Aston Villa defender to stay as England manager earlier this week.
“Yeah, definitely, obviously,” Southgate said in response to a question about whether the England team wanted him to remain on past the summer.
“We want to be successful in the Euros – we are not looking at the World Cup at the moment – but obviously if we are successful at the Euros, which is our main focus, of course, we want to be successful.”

“We want Gareth to stay as long as possible if he’s the man to make us successful,” he continued. We’ve got a terrific relationship. I have played a significant role in our nation’s achievements and advancement.

“And now, I have no doubt that he would reiterate that it’s all about taking home a trophy. I’m not sure whether he knows what will happen after the Euros, and I have no idea what will happen.
“However, I believe that since he took over this position to the present, we have made significant progress, and he has played a major role in that.
“The athletes and those close to him acknowledge and respect him without a doubt. and those whose viewpoints are important to him.”
