England Boss Gareth Southgate is set to become the new manager of surprising Premier League club

Gareth Southgate claims that one Man City player has completely amazed him.
One Manchester City player, according to Gareth Southgate, has a unique talent.
The 53-year-old has managed many elite players and saw his fair share of Premier League matches in his role as manager of the England national side.
But now, because of his performance on the field this season, the England manager has singled out one Premier League player who he knows very well for high praise.
Speaking about Phil Foden, Southgate began by recalling his first impression of the midfield player during the recent Football Writers’ Association award ceremony (via Henry Winter).
“It was an Under-16 camp at St. George’s Park,” he stated. There is a ripple effect over the entire space when you get a unique player. “Have you seen Phil?” everyone exclaimed.
MORE MAN CITY STORIES “The fluidity, turns, and gliding motions of the player seem to be exactly the same now as they did back then.” Then they revealed his age to me: 14!
Working with outstanding players every day, together with Pep [Guardiola] and an amazing coaching staff, he hasn’t lost his hunger.
“Phil is a huge football fan. He enjoys playing with the ball. Usually, we have to drag [Jack] Grealish off the training field! Phil is a unique player. He will be a household name for many years to come. That we have him is a blessing.
This season, Foden has demonstrated his class.
The 23-year-old has contributed 13 more goals than he did in 48 games the previous season with 25 goals and 11 assists in 51 games this season across all competitions.
It is clear why Southgate is so impressed with him after he was crowned the FWA Men’s Player of the Year and received nominations for both the Premier League and City’s Player of the Season awards.
Foden has now made 33 appearances for England under Southgate, with eight assists and four goals. It is probable that Foden will be a member of the group for the summer’s European Championship in Germany.
