“I think he will be the best replacement for Pochettino we have seen what he has done for other clubs and still doing now for his current club-Eden Hazard has a bold recommendation for Chelsea’s next manager
Eden Hazard, who has slyly suggested a former teammate to take over as Chelsea manager, believes Mauricio Pochettino should have stayed in the position after performing a “fantastic job.”
After a tumultuous season, the west London club confirmed early last week that they had parted ways with the Argentine coach “by mutual consent.”
Chelsea spent a large portion of the season languishing in mid-table due to inconsistent play and a plethora of injuries, but a run of five straight victories towards the conclusion of the season propelled them up to sixth position and, in the process, secured European participation.
However, Pochettino and Chelsea’s management had divergent ideas on how to advance the team, and as a result, the Blues are currently scrambling to find a new manager.
Kieran McKenna of Ipswich Town was the early favorite, but it’s thought that Chelsea has narrowed the field to only two candidates: Thomas Frank of Brentford and Enzo Maresca of Leicester City, while Roberto De Zerbi may also be considered.
Hazard expressed his disappointment at Pochettino’s departure from Stamford Bridge, especially after a season of change, but he also hinted that it may be a chance to give former Como caretaker manager and former Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas the reigns.
When asked about his feelings on Pochettino’s departure, Hazard said to talkSPORT, “I was, to be frank, a bit upset.”
I believe he performed admirably. Although it’s only a transitional season, I understand that many want Chelsea to finish in the top four.

Just before leaving, Pochettino had finally won over Chelsea supporters (Picture: Getty). “He’s a terrific manager, I wish him good success,” one fan said of him. Observe who will be present in the future.
When asked who he would want to replace him and if De Zerbi would be a suitable choice, Hazard said, “Maybe.”
“My friend can also be the first manager in Como,” I said, winking.
Before taking over as interim manager for five games at the close of the previous season, Fabregas was a player for Como. Since then, he has assisted Osian Roberts in leading the team to promotion to Serie A.
A few days before to Pochettino’s departure, Fabregas paid a visit to Chelsea’s Cobham training facility. He revealed this to the BBC Sounds’ Planet Premier League podcast. Ironically, I spent the weekend in London.
To begin with, I got along well with Mauricio. I always thought that he was a really lovely guy, a gentleman, when we played against them.
Two days before the season ends, on Friday [that he visited], I thought that they had won four straight games, so everything seemed to be going well and amusingly around the training ground ahead of the last game of the season.
“I stopped by and he gave me a warm welcome.” I talked football with him for an hour and a half in his office.
Naturally, in addition to seeing some former teammates, I spoke with some of the people I know who work at the club.
Thus, I quite loved it and, to be honest, I didn’t have the impression that this would occur. I was astonished by the choice since, just by glancing around and observing the atmosphere, I thought it was pleasant and simple.
