United are in need of a centre-back and it looks like United have gotten this one done. Jarrad Branthwaite move to Manchester United soon to become reality. This is what we all have been waiting for. Let’s get this deal done🙀🙀🙀

Everton have set a remarkably high price on Jarrad Branthwaite, indicating that selling him would necessitate a fee placing him among the most expensive centre-backs in the world.

The Merseyside club is keen to keep the 21-year-old, who is happy at Goodison Park. At the same time, they are negotiating a new contract with Dominic Calvert-Lewin to retain key players crucial to Sean Dyche’s squad.

Branthwaite’s impressive development has attracted interest from several clubs, including Manchester United. His participation in Gareth Southgate’s 33-man training group suggests a potential inclusion in England’s squad for Euro 2024.

Everton’s valuation of Branthwaite is in the range of the £80 million Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019, the £77 million Manchester City spent on Josko Gvardiol last summer, and the £70 million Chelsea paid for Wesley Fofana two years ago.

Despite facing financial challenges and uncertainty over ownership—with a potential sale to American investors 777 Partners possibly falling through—Everton insists they are not in a hurry to sell players. Any decision to let Branthwaite go would require a significant offer.

Branthwaite, who joined from Carlisle and was voted Everton’s Players’ Player of the Year, signed a four-year contract last October.

Meanwhile, Everton is also working to extend the contract of striker Calvert-Lewin, whose current deal ends next summer. They are negotiating to avoid losing the England international on a free transfer.

After struggling with injuries for two seasons, Calvert-Lewin made 39 appearances last season. He endured a 23-game goal drought but finished the season with eight goals, including one in the 2-0 Merseyside derby win over Liverpool.
