Chelsea complete move for Manchester City treble winner as ‘dream’ transfer outlined, deal has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano
After yet another demanding Premier League season, footballers are currently on international duty or enjoying a well-earned vacation during the off-season.
Over the next several weeks, a number of Manchester City players will compete on behalf of their country as they finalize plans to host Euro 2024 in Germany. The competition begins on July 15.
Although the playing staff won’t be there, Man City will nonetheless be quite busy getting ready for the upcoming season. Identifying transfer targets and evaluating the team to determine the players’ long-term plans will be part of that process.
Ex-City player completes transfer to Chelsea
Just a year after leaving City, Enzo Maresca, a former assistant manager for City, has officially taken over as Chelsea’s new head coach.
Before taking over as Leicester City’s manager last year, the Italian coach served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant during the season that saw them achieve a treble. At the first attempt, he guided the Foxes to the Championship championship and their immediate return to the Premier League.
However, he will now be in the Chelsea dugout next season rather than leading Leicester versus City. He agreed to a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with an additional year’s option.
As to MENSport, Maresca’s possession-based approach, like to Guardiola’s, is said to have drawn Chelsea. This is undoubtedly one of the surprise transfers of the summer. Given the Blues’ history of hiring and firing players, it will be intriguing to watch how he does at Stamford Bridge. There is some discussion over whether it would have been wiser for him to get more experience at Leicester before making such a significant transfer.
He took use of his ties at City to secure defender Callum Doyle on loan at Leicester. But now that he’s at Chelsea, City could be less eager to support him.
Deniz Undav, a striker for Brighton & Hove Albion, has stated that he hopes to play for Manchester City before he retires. After having trouble getting into the starting lineup during his debut season in the Premier League, the 27-year-old has spent the season on loan with Stuttgart of the Bundesliga.
He made 30 league appearances last season, scoring an amazing 18 goals and dishing out another 10 assists. Speaking now about his future, he mentioned City as a place he will put in a lot of effort to go to.
Few players, in my opinion, would turn down a Bayern offer. At some time, everyone aspires to play for the major teams: Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City,” he told Bild. “I give everything I have every day to reach that last great step I hope to take one day.”
MENSport reports: Despite having an outstanding goal scoring record in the Bundesliga, Undav had difficulty in his one and only season in the Premier League. He must go back to Brighton and begin scoring goals for enjoyment if he hopes to grab Pep Guardiola’s attention throughout the ensuing years.
The striker’s bad news is that time is not on his side. Since he is now 27 years old and should be at his prime, the 2024–2025 season will be critical to him landing that “dream” last-minute move.
