Mason Greenwood has accepted a move from Manchester United and everyone in this deal will end up happy
Forward Mason Greenwood of Manchester United has apparently agreed to a remarkable summer transfer away from Old Trafford.
Following a great loan spell at Spanish club Getafe, where he scored eight goals and offered six assists in La Liga – winning the Player of the Year title in the process – Greenwood, 22, is scheduled to return to United in the next weeks.
Since his January 2022 arrest for attempted rape, controlling behavior, and assault—charges subsequently dropped— Greenwood has not been seen for United. The player refuted all claims made about him.
Although United verified earlier this week that Greenwood had been kept by the team, it is clear he will go on his career away from Old Trafford.
With Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund among a list of possible suitors overseas, many elite European teams have been linked with a move for the attacker.
He now, nevertheless, seems inclined to migrate to Italy instead.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via The Metro) claims Greenwood has already expressed “yes” on a suggested relocation to Serie A behemoths Juventus.
United is reported to be ready to sell Greenwood and have set an asking price this summer between €35-40m (£30-34m).
Juventus is seeking for “advantageous formulae” to bring the sale over the line and are sure they can negotiate a reduced price.
Juve allegedly might utilize one of Samuel Iling-Junior or Federico Chiesa in a possible exchange arrangement for Greenwood, a United contract holder nearing the end.
Though he acknowledged Getafe in a rare public remark at the end of his loan with the Spanish club, Greenwood has remained silent regarding his future.
“Very appreciative of the Getafe family and supporters for an incredible season; you make me welcome and among your own. Along with my team-mates and club, I loved every second on Instagram.
