Let him go” “He can’t suit my style of play, I can’t play him in my squad” –Chelsea New manager Enzo Maresca tells Chelsea to sell 24-years-old Chelsea star
The player wants to stay with the squad, but Chelsea seems to be trying to trade him since they don’t think his style of play fits well with Enzo Maresca’s.
Despite the oddity of this assertion, it is nevertheless worth considering because it originates from a reliable source of sports news.
The Athletic is reporting that Chelsea is accepting proposals for the defender Trevoh Chalobah, who feels his future is at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea feels that Trevoh Chalobah does not suit Maresca’s out-of-the-back playing style. Fulham is one among the teams interested in the 24-year-old.
Chalobah is a pure profit margin, thus Chelsea was bound to offer him for sale this summer. In addition, he’s been rumored to be on the sales list for a few months. Had he not been hurt and found a buyer, he probably would have been sold in January.
It seems ridiculous to me that Chalobah is a mediocre ball-player center back. He is more capable than what is being mentioned here, even though he might not be the best defense in the world when it comes to ball possession.
Though I imagine Chelsea won’t give up on a player they recently bought and admit they made a mistake—especially considering Chalobah would be a surefire profit—he is, if anything, more adept with the ball than Axel Disasi.
However, in my opinion, this is an odd claim that probably started with Chelsea. They will be conscious of the fact that Chalobah is well-liked by Chelsea fans, who would object if he is traded. Perhaps this is an effort to place blame on the new style of play. However, that is only my opinion.
