Manchester United Manager Erig Ten Hag has splashed £100 million on wordclass winger who has more goal contribution than Cole Palmer this Season
Dwight Yorke believes Manchester United should not be afraid to shell out an extra £50 million to buy Michael Olise.
The Crystal Palace player will soon sign a £50.7 million contract with Bayern Munich, surpassing the offers of Chelsea, Newcastle, and even Manchester United, who had a long-standing interest in him but were unable to secure a deal.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Yorke is certain that United should match Bayern’s attempt by increasing the offer, implying a sizeable nine-figure sum for the 22-year-old star.
Yorke, a member of United’s legendary 1999 treble-winning squad, stated the following to Crypto Sports Betting: “Man United should have wrapped up signing Michael Olise already, you can see the lad is a class act and would grow at the club.” He made an impression at Crystal Palace by seizing the chance.”
The former United striker, who scored 65 goals in 152 games for the club, thinks the club could offer more than £100 million considering they previously paid £85 million for Antony, whose play was deemed subpar during his two years at Old Trafford.
“That sort of talent will easily be worth at least £50m these days, but if Man United are buying Antony for £85 million, they will definitely spend upwards of £100 million for Olise,” Yorke continued. Man United cannot be upset by Palace’s valuation of Olise when they consider the amount of money that was spent on players like Antony.”
