Following the FA Cup victory at the end of the 2023/2024 season, the Dutch manager is expected to be rewarded for his impressive achievement. Despite earlier speculations about his possible departure before the final at Wembley, ten Hag is now set to remain as manager with an extended contract.

Ten Hag Close to Contract Extension

Romano has confirmed that the negotiations to extend ten Hag’s contract are nearing completion. Additionally, there will be changes in his coaching staff, with Ruud van Nistelrooy being a leading candidate to join the team.

“Erik ten Hag is set to sign a new contract at Manchester United, with the deal almost finalized. Discussions with his agents are advancing towards finalization. There will be changes in the staff, with Ruud van Nistelrooy as a strong candidate.”

The 2023/2024 season was challenging for United, with disappointing performances in both the Champions League and Premier League. They were eliminated early from European competition and finished eighth in the Premier League. Romano had earlier mentioned to GIVEMESPORT that ten Hag was pleased with a long-term vision in collaboration with INEOS, with the club’s leadership viewing him as crucial to their future plans.
