Liverpool have just closed a total agreement for Sensational super talented player- Done and sealed- Medicals on Monday- Agreement in place since last week and now set to be sealed once documents will be ready. Here we go Reds.

Liverpool could hold a significant edge over a rival in the race to sign a reported transfer target this summer.

The Reds have shown strong interest in Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori. Although Sacha Tavolieri mentioned that Juventus was nearing a deal for the 22-year-old, the Sunday People’s latest print edition suggests that Liverpool might have a better chance than Juventus in securing the £40m-rated defender.

The report explains that Bologna is more inclined to entertain bids from Premier League clubs, as they are hesitant to sell the player to a Serie A rival, especially after losing their manager Thiago Motta to Juventus.

Moreover, Liverpool’s new sporting director, Richard Hughes, had scouted Calafiori during his previous role at Bournemouth.

While it initially seemed Calafiori was Juventus-bound, Liverpool now appears to have an advantage due to Bologna’s reluctance to deal with a domestic competitor.

Nonetheless, Liverpool is not the sole Premier League club interested in Calafiori. Chelsea and Arsenal are also reportedly encouraged by Bologna’s preference to sell outside Serie A.

Calafiori has recently impressed for Italy at Euro 2024, and his suspension was notably felt during their 2-0 loss to Switzerland, which dashed their hopes of retaining the European title.

A versatile defender capable of playing both as a centre-back and on the left, Calafiori boasts a well-rounded skill set, as evidenced by FBref statistics comparing him to other top defenders in Europe’s major leagues over the past few years.

With his balanced attributes and potential for growth at just 22, Calafiori represents a significant opportunity for Liverpool, one that Hughes should make every effort to seize.
