Manchester United’s pursuit of midfielder Manuel Ugarte is progressing well, with ongoing negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain, as reported by FootMercato journalist Santi Aouna.

Despite Ugarte’s inconsistent first season in Paris, United remains keen on the Uruguayan, considering him an ideal replacement for Casemiro, who may leave. The club aims to secure Ugarte for around £40-45 million, despite his limited 25 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.

According to FootMercato, the 23-year-old is open to joining Manchester United, feeling he is not a key part of PSG’s plans. While other clubs are interested, United is reportedly leading the race and optimistic about finalizing the deal.

Agreement Between United and PSG Near

Valuation Differences Slightly Delay Deal

Ugarte has already agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, giving his approval for the move. Although not entirely sidelined by PSG manager Luis Enrique, Ugarte feels he does not fit into the club’s future plans and envisions himself at Old Trafford.

The primary obstacle is an agreement between the two clubs on the transfer fee. PSG aims to recover the €60 million spent on Ugarte last summer, while United hopes to cap the fee at £45 million. A compromise is anticipated, with both sides likely to meet in the middle, and according to Aouna via FootMercato, this agreement could be imminent.
