“He was the cause of our defeat, he had lost the ball more than 10 times on the pitch which caused the second and Third goal, he needs to leave my club-Enzo Maresca reveals main person for Chelsea defeat

Enzo Maresca concedes that Chelsea “needs to improve many things off the ball” following their crushing 4-1 loss to Celtic on Saturday night in their preseason encounter.

The Scottish champions were ahead in the first half with to goals from Matt O’Reily and Kyogo Furuhashi, and Brendan Rodgers’ team prevailed handily at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.

After the interval, goals came from Luis Palma and Mikey Johnston, and Christopher Nkunku added a late consolation from the penalty spot.

Chelsea lost their first game of the preseason after drawing 2-2 with Wrexham on the first day of the league this week.

Maresca also acknowledges that his team is still “disoriented” when it comes to possession and movement.

“The outcome is crucial, as we have stated,” Maresca remarked following Chelsea’s loss.

“For us, a general analysis of the game is necessary.” The team was, in my opinion, ten times more effective on the ball than they were against Wrexham, and that is significant because it shows how many chances we had in both the first and second halves.
