Leny Yoro may have been signed against the odds but with latest injury Manchester United now have plans of recruiting more than one centre-back this summer and have made an official move to sign Portuguese star. According to Reports, united have submitted an official bid of £55m to bring the 20yrs old to Old Trafford. He said ” I know there’s lot of competition at united I know my potential and I can’t to see this dream become a reality cause I’m eager to join united. Man United now eyeing benfica star, who is capable of playing as the left centre-back after yoro’s injury. The fans are in support of this move. We have to bring someone who can get that defense balanced and he seems like the best option🙀😱🙀

Manchester United, despite unexpectedly signing Leny Yoro, is still focused on strengthening their defense by adding more center-backs this summer.

Their pursuit of Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton has encountered challenges, with two offers already rejected. Hopes of a third bid after a failed takeover attempt were short-lived, as Everton is set to offer Branthwaite a new contract, potentially halting the transfer for now.

The acquisition of Matthijs de Ligt appeared straightforward, with personal terms agreed upon and a shared interest in reuniting with Erik ten Hag. However, negotiations have stalled due to United’s inability to meet Bayern Munich’s valuation of the Dutch player. De Ligt is reportedly frustrated with his current situation, complicating the transfer process further.

Amid difficulties in acquiring Branthwaite and De Ligt, United has shifted focus to Benfica’s Antonio Silva, as reported by Football Transfers. Silva has been on United’s radar for a while, with regular scouting of his performances. The 20-year-old’s ability to play on both sides of the defense makes him an attractive candidate, especially as a potential backup for Lisandro Martinez.

Initially, Silva’s release clause of €100 million was a significant obstacle. However, following a lackluster Euro 2024 performance, his price has reportedly decreased. The Portuguese international, represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Yoro and has a positive relationship with Manchester United, is seeking a high-profile transfer for Silva, making this move more likely.

Last season, United’s defensive issues were exposed, particularly during Lisandro Martinez’s absence. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof struggled to fill the gap, prompting Ten Hag’s interest in versatile defenders like Branthwaite and Silva.

Silva’s ability to play on both the left and right sides of the defense and provide cover for Martinez makes him a desirable target. However, Benfica may be hesitant to let go of both Silva and Joao Neves, the latter of whom is rumored to be nearing a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United is expected to continue their pursuit of De Ligt and Branthwaite, while hoping that player sales will provide the financial means to make stronger bids. The club values Silva’s versatility and potential to enhance their defensive line.

As United navigates the complexities of the transfer market, their primary goal remains building a strong defense to compete at the highest levels. The success of these negotiations will be crucial for their preparations and ambitions for the upcoming season.
