“Erig Ten Hag doesn’t want me in his squad anymore, I wasn’t in the squad list for the Brighton match my decision has been made to leave Manchester United

As the clock approaches 11 p.m. on Friday night, Jadon Sancho may not have a long future at Old Trafford.

Despite their public fallout from the previous season, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag brought the former Borussia Dortmund attacker back into the starting lineup this summer. However, with competition for his spot and Sancho still being a marketable commodity, there is ‘openness’ to let him go. The 24-year-old is one of five United players that may be off the roster.

Different possibilities are on the table for Sancho due to reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Dortmund, where he returned on loan during the January window. Here, our authors debate his next course of action and consider which option would maximize his value for United;

United should only agree to the agreement if it includes a commitment to purchase at the £40 million asking price that the team has determined. In particular, if United is paying a portion of the player’s salary, a straight loan agreement without any obligations does not seem to be very advantageous for the team.

It seems like it could be preferable to just keep him at the team if United does not receive the £40 million asking price, either in the form of a loan with conditions or a permanent move.

Ten Hag and Sancho appear to have patched up their differences, and the player has already demonstrated his ability to create an impact in the Premier League. It can only be advantageous for United this season if he can rediscover the form he shown for Borussia Dortmund at Old Trafford in the second part of the previous campaign.

Even if it appeared as though Jadon Sancho and Erik ten Hag had crossed paths, Sancho is still free to leave Manchester United.

Following a successful loan stint at Borussia Dortmund, it is hardly surprising that potential employers were lining up outside Old Trafford, figuratively speaking, hoping to hire Sancho on a permanent basis. The winger appears to be of serious interest to Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea, with the Italian team being the clear favorite.

Unless the arrangement has a lucrative buy-option provision, sanctioning a loan departure is quite meaningless because there is no assurance that his value will have grown after a year. Until a bid in the neighborhood of £40 million comes along, I believe the club would be better off retaining Sancho given the alternatives Ten Hag has available out wide.

Though he will not start for United, his addition will provide some much-needed depth, especially in light of Marcus Rashford’s difficulties and the injuries that Rasmus Hojlund and Antony have had since joining the team.
