Le Tissier, who joined Manchester United from Brighton & Hove Albion two years ago as a central defender, has quickly become an integral part of the team’s defense with her consistent performance and skill.

Her promotion follows the departure of Katie Zelem, who served as captain since 2019, guiding the team to an FA Cup win in May before moving to Angel City FC in the NWSL after her contract ended.
Le Tissier’s standout performances in recent seasons have been noteworthy, especially her partnership with Millie Turner, which was instrumental in Manchester United achieving a Women’s Super League record of 14 clean sheets during the 2022/23 season, securing a second-place finish in the league.
