Coming live from Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are preparing a stunning move to sign former Man United superstar. This transfer is going to cause serious controversy

Angel Gomes, once a Manchester United academy player and now playing for Lille in France, is a name to watch. He gained attention in 2017 by becoming United’s youngest-ever Premier League debutant but was eventually released by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since then, Gomes has flourished, earning recognition for his performances and making his senior debut for England in the Nations League. With his contract at Lille expiring next year, rumors are swirling about a potential return to England.

Newcastle United is reportedly interested in the 24-year-old, and, surprisingly, Liverpool, United’s fierce rivals, are also said to be considering a move. Additionally, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund, known for nurturing young talent, have shown interest in Gomes.

Since leaving United, Gomes has increased his value with strong performances in Ligue 1 and on the international stage. According to Football Insider, scouts from Liverpool, Newcastle, and Tottenham observed his recent England debut, a 2-0 victory over Finland in early September. Dortmund, with a track record of developing English players like Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, is also keen to bring Gomes to Germany.

With his contract ending soon, Gomes can begin negotiating pre-contract agreements in January, sparking more competition for his signature. While his early career raised doubts about his physicality, he has since proved his ability in Ligue 1, a physically demanding league. His passing and versatility make him an attractive option for top clubs, including a potential return to Manchester United, especially as the club could see key midfielders like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen depart.

United’s new owners, INEOS, have been strategic with academy players, often including buyback clauses in sales. They may be interested in bringing Gomes back to Old Trafford to avoid losing him to a rival like Liverpool. Re-signing him could offer United a young, talented, homegrown player familiar with the club’s culture and financial strategy.
