šŸ—£ļø “I look at players who’ve played over the last 10 years and I always think of when I’m retired about players I would have loved to have played against.” šŸ—£ļø “But he’s one I’m glad I never was around to play against because I know he would’ve twisted me inside out.” It takes a lot for Keane to talk about someone in this way…

Roy Keane has revealed the one “genius” Premier League player heā€™s relieved he never had to face during his career.

Keane, who enjoyed a highly successful career with Manchester United, winning seven Premier League titles, faced many top-tier opponents, including Patrick Vieira, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and Zinedine Zidane. However, he never had the chance to go up against David Silva, the former Manchester City playmaker.

Keane holds Silva in very high regard, considering him one of the best to have ever played in the Premier League. He admitted he was thankful that he never had to compete against the Spaniard.

Reflecting on Premier League players from the last few decades, Keane said, ā€œThere are many elite talents like Shearer, Henry, Gerrard, and Giggs, and Silva is right up there with them. An absolutely remarkable player.ā€

Speaking further about Silva, Keane added, ā€œItā€™s a shame he left during a time when stadiums were empty. City fans would have loved to give him a proper send-off, and Iā€™m sure heā€™ll get the chance to return for one.ā€

Describing Silva, Keane remarked, ā€œHeā€™s a little genius. When I think of players from the last decade, thereā€™s no doubt heā€™s one Iā€™m glad I didnā€™t have to play against. He would have run circles around me. Truly a little genius.ā€

Silva spent a decade at Manchester City, securing four Premier League titles and making over 300 league appearances, leaving an indelible mark at the club before returning to Spain.
