Real Madrid legends would have changed Manchester united future Breaking News: 🚨 Ronaldo and Bale could have played together at Manchester United! 🤯 Sir Alex Ferguson revealed a shocking plan to bring the duo back to Old Trafford in 2013.
In 2009, Real Madrid made headlines by acquiring Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in a world-record transfer deal. Ronaldo’s arrival marked a pivotal moment in the club’s history, as he became instrumental in shaping a decade of European football dominance for Los Blancos. Under his leadership, Real Madrid won four UEFA Champions League trophies, two La Liga titles, and numerous other honors.
In 2013, Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid, partnering with Ronaldo to form a dynamic duo. Their collaboration was central to the club’s success, particularly in European competitions, with Bale ultimately securing five Champions League titles. Although Bale’s later years at the club were challenging, the influence he and Ronaldo had during their time together was undeniable.
Recently, former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra disclosed how different things could have been for the two stars. According to Evra, Manchester United had an ambitious plan in 2013 to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford alongside signing Bale.
Speaking on The ObiOne Podcast, Evra shared that prior to Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, the legendary manager was working on a strategy to sign both Ronaldo and Bale for Manchester United.
“Two weeks before he retired, Sir Alex said to me: ‘Patrice, Cristiano Ronaldo is 99% set to return, and Gareth Bale is also coming.’ He needed £200 million for the transfers, but the club refused,” Evra explained. “Now, they’ve spent billions, but back then, they didn’t want to invest.”
Evra recounted his excitement at the possibility of seeing Ronaldo and Bale leading Manchester United again: “I left his office thinking, ‘We’re back—Cristiano’s coming, and so is Bale.’”
If Manchester United had managed to secure both players, it might have drastically shifted the landscape of European football. Ronaldo and Bale could have reunited at Old Trafford, potentially changing Real Madrid’s trajectory of dominance. Instead, they stayed at the Bernabéu, leaving a lasting legacy and creating some of the most memorable moments in Real Madrid’s rich history.
