Heartbreaking Diogo Jota news has โ€œrockedโ€ the Liverpool fans all over the world. ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’” The last news Liverpool fans wanted to hear

Liverpool’s triumph over Chelsea on Sunday was overshadowed by an injury to Diogo Jota, leaving the team waiting anxiously for scan results to determine the extent of the issue.

The 27-year-old suffered a foul from Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo early in the game. Adarabioyo was fortunate to escape a red card despite preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Jota received immediate treatment on the pitch but was ultimately substituted after 30 minutes.

According to Manager Arne Slot (as reported by The Athletic), Jota is expected to miss the upcoming Champions League clash against RB Leipzig. However, the situation could worsen depending on the scan results.

Sports injury analyst @physioscout on X offered an expert analysis, suggesting that Jota may have sustained either a rib contusion or a fracture.

A contusion would likely keep him sidelined for 1-2 weeks, whereas a rib fracture could result in an absence of 4-6 weeks.

If it’s a minor contusion, Jota may miss the Leipzig, Arsenal, and Brighton matches but could return for the Bayer Leverkusen fixture on November 5. A rib fracture, however, could rule him out for up to six weeks, causing him to miss key games against Real Madrid and Manchester City.

This would be a considerable blow for both Jota and Liverpool, as the forward has already been sidelined for 25 games due to injuries in the past year.

Though a return in early November is possible, Liverpool fans are hoping the injury isn’

t too severe.
