Man Utd fans spot Joshua Zirkzee’s worrying Instagram activity amid rumours he will leave the club in January Joshua Zirkzee only joined Manchester United this summer. Zirkzee’s already prepared to leave Old Trafford and eagle-eyed supporters spotted what he’s been doing online. It’s not nice to see…

Manchester United fans have recently observed Joshua Zirkzee’s actions on Instagram, fueling rumors of a possible exit from the club.
The 23-year-old forward joined Manchester United from Bologna during the summer transfer window for a reported fee of £36.5 million. Zirkzee made an immediate impact by scoring on his Premier League debut against Fulham, but his form has dipped, failing to score in the last ten matches. Speculation now suggests he could seek a transfer in January, just half a year after arriving at Old Trafford.
Italian journalist Daniele Longo from Calciomercato has hinted that Zirkzee may be considering a return to Serie A if his situation at Manchester United doesn’t improve.
Fans also picked up on Zirkzee ‘liking’ a comedic Instagram video that mocked his playing style, where the creator humorously portrayed him as often drifting into midfield rather than staying in the striker’s position.
Zirkzee has previously addressed this aspect of his game, stating: “I sometimes drop into midfield, not for my own benefit but to help the team. I consider myself a ‘false striker’—neither a full No. 9 nor a No. 10, but somewhere in between. It’s a different style, but being unique has its advantages.”
Former Arsenal and England player Paul Merson also weighed in on the discussion, saying: “Zirkzee performed well at Bologna, but playing in England, especially at a club like Manchester United, is a different challenge. There’s always pressure at this club, whether you’re missing chances or struggling to get involved. Where does he fit in? With Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Højlund all competing for forward positions, it’s hard to fin
d space.”
