Newcastle’s best player will miss the big match against Liverpool in the Premier League tomorrow. Advantage Liverpool ✅️

A major injury setback has impacted one of Liverpool’s upcoming opponents, potentially affecting their squad ahead of the clash with the Reds.

Arne Slot’s team is gearing up for a hectic December schedule, starting with a home match against Manchester City today, followed by a trip to St. James’ Park on Wednesday to face Newcastle United.

The Premier League leaders are already managing several player absences for their visit to Tyneside, and Newcastle manager Eddie Howe may now have a fresh injury concern in his lineup.

Newcastle Faces Key Injury Concerns Ahead of Liverpool Match

Alexander Isak was substituted during Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday due to a suspected groin issue.

As reported by Shields Gazette, Howe referred to it as a “contact injury” and expressed cautious optimism about a quick recovery. However, the club is awaiting a full assessment of the £64 million striker’s condition.

Other players, including Joelinton and Dan Burn, also experienced issues during the Palace game but managed to complete the match and are expected to be available for the Liverpool fixture.

Isak’s Injury Could Be a Major Blow for Newcastle

While it remains uncertain if Isak will feature against Liverpool, the short recovery window and the nature of the injury make his participation unlikely.

If Isak, Newcastle’s top scorer, is sidelined, it would represent a significant setback for Howe’s side. Alongside Harvey Barnes, Isak is one of only two players in the squad to have scored more than twice this season.

In Isak’s absence, Howe may need to turn to lesser-utilized players like Callum Wilson or William Osula, who have collectively played just 164 minutes this season. Alternatively, he could experiment with repositioning players such as Anthony Gordon or Joelinton in an attacking role.

Newcastle fans and management now face an anxious wait for updates on Isak’s fitness. While his potential unavailability could provide Liverpool with an advantage, no one likes to see a player sidelined. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to

the Swedish forward.
