We have decided to appeal against their decision, That’s unfair”: Manchester United’s coach Ruben Amorim has responded to FA’s ‘career-ending’ punishment for Patrick Dorgu after his horrible tackle on Omari Hutchinson. RUBEN AMORIM IS NOT HAPPY WITH FA’s OVER DORGU’S PUNISHMENT AND HE PLANS TO DO THE UNTHINKABLE.

In a thrilling clash at Old Trafford, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed the club’s plan to challenge the Football Association’s (FA) decision to hand defender Patrick Dorgu a three-match suspension. The young Danish full-back was sent off during United’s 3-2 win over Ipswich Town after a controversial challenge on Omari Hutchinson.

The incident occurred in the 43rd minute when Dorgu’s tackle initially went unpunished by the referee. However, after a VAR review, the official consulted the pitchside monitor and issued a red card for serious foul play. As a result, United was reduced to ten men, and Dorgu is now set to miss key fixtures, including the FA Cup clash against Fulham and Premier League matches versus Arsenal and Leicester City.

Amorim expressed his frustration over the ruling, stating, “We are appealing the decision because it’s unfair.” He defended Dorgu’s actions, emphasizing that the defender intended to play the ball. “Maybe he was a bit aggressive in his approach, but he’s young and still adapting to the Premier League,” Amorim added.

The match itself was a dramatic affair, with an early defensive mix-up between Dorgu and goalkeeper Andre Onana gifting Ipswich’s Jaden Philogene the opening goal. United responded with an own goal from Ipswich’s Sam Morsy and a well-taken strike by Matthijs de Ligt to take the lead. However, Dorgu’s red card and a second goal from Philogene brought the game level again. Ultimately, it was Harry Maguire’s powerful header early in the second half that sealed the victory for United.

Beyond the red card controversy, Amorim also addressed Alejandro Garnacho’s reaction to being substituted following Dorgu’s dismissal. The young winger went straight down the tunnel, drawing attention from fans and pundits alike. “I’ll have a conversation with Garnacho about that,” Amorim said.

With crucial matches ahead, United faces a significant challenge if Dorgu remains suspended. The club’s decision to appeal highlights their belief that the punishment was too severe. Supporters will now wait to see whether the FA reconsiders its ruling and how this decision could impact United’s upcoming perf

ormances.
