Manchester United Intensify Pursuit of Prolific Striker Hugo Ekitike

Manchester United is reportedly considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

With manager Ruben Amorim aiming to reshape the squad, the club is actively looking to strengthen its attacking options. Currently, Rasmus HĆøjlund and Joshua Zirkzee are the primary choices up front, but neither has cemented their place as the undisputed starter. As a result, United is now targeting the highly-rated French forward to enhance their offensive firepower.

Ekitike, a former Paris Saint-Germain player, has been in outstanding form for Frankfurt, netting 19 goals and providing seven assists across 37 matches this season. His performances have not gone unnoticed, and Manchester United is weighing up a move to bring him to Old Trafford as part of Amorim’s vision for the club.

However, Frankfurt is well aware of the growing interest in their 22-year-old star and has set a hefty Ā£67 million price tag—far above the Ā£14 million they paid to secure his permanent transfer last year.

United has been evaluating several attacking options across Europe, including Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray and Viktor Gyƶkeres, who previously played under Amorim. But with Champions League qualification uncertain and financial restrictions in place, Ekitike is seen as a more viable target.

As the summer transfer window approaches, fans will be eagerly watching to see if Manchester United can secure the striker they need to revitalize their attack

ing lineup.
