Welbeck, often criticized for his goal-scoring record, was an integral part of the squad but faced tough competition for a starting spot. Despite this, he showed promise and was valued for his versatility and work rate.

Following his transfer, Welbeck scored 32 goals in 126 appearances for Arsenal before moving to Watford in 2019. He later joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2020, where he has since netted 34 goals in 152 matches.
