Manchester United sporting director confirms decision on Mason Greenwood — the club will consider offers this summer despite his strong form at Marseille. His future remains uncertain, with several top clubs interested.

Mason Greenwood Earns Praise from Former Manchester United Teammates Following Remarkable Comeback in France

Mason Greenwood is making headlines once again—this time for the right reasons. The 23-year-old forward has impressed fans and critics alike with his recent performances for Olympique de Marseille, earning praise from both his current manager and former Manchester United colleagues.

Greenwood, who recently reclaimed his spot in Roberto De Zerbi’s starting lineup after facing criticism for lacking effort, has found a new gear. In his last five appearances, the English attacker has bagged three goals and provided an assist, including a standout performance in Marseille’s 4-1 demolition of Brest, where he both scored and assisted Amine Gouiri.

So far this season, Greenwood has tallied an impressive 20 goals in 33 games across all competitions—one of the highest outputs in Ligue 1. His resurgence has been vital in keeping Marseille’s Champions League hopes alive.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi acknowledged Greenwood’s newfound energy and commitment:

“Have you ever seen Mason Greenwood work like today? It was the first time,” De Zerbi told DAZN. “Sometimes you drop points due to poor attitudes—not a lack of talent. Today was different.”

Greenwood took to Instagram to celebrate the win, posting match-day photos and the caption: “Great performance from start to finish, important win,” along with a blue heart emoji.

Support hasn’t only come from within Marseille. According to reports, three of Greenwood’s former Manchester United teammates showed their support online after his recent display, suggesting that bonds remain strong between him and some at Old Trafford—despite his uncertain future with the club.

As Greenwood continues to thrive in France and De Zerbi backs his progress, the question remains: Should Manchester United bring him back next season, or should they capitalize on his market value and sell?
