Very SAD Manchester City news has been announced this morning as Three Key Players are set to miss thier Match Against West Ham
Man City players will miss training as a landmark sponsorship agreement is reached. Pep Guardiola may be without three crucial players when Manchester City travels to West Ham on Saturday.
Guardiola has returned to Manchester after a three-week absence due to back surgery, and his international players will return on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of City’s away match at the London Stadium.
While Guardiola was recovering from his own injury, three vital players were absent on Thursday, as Mateo Kovacic joined John Stones and Jack Grealish on the injured list.
Stones has been sidelined since the start of the season, with his comeback scheduled for the international break. Stones was’more or less’ fit for the Fulham game two weeks ago, according to assistant manager Juanma Lillo.
City signs historic sponsorship agreement
City and Joie have agreed on a new sponsorship agreement that would see the academy stadium bear the name of the women’s team sponsor.
Joie, a British baby gear firm, joined the club in March and has already inked one of the biggest sponsorship deals in the Women’s Super League, with Gareth Taylor’s side (as well as the men’s Under-21s) playing at the Joie Stadium. City, who are already the only team in the WSL to play in their own stadium, are also the first to agree on a commercial deal for the stadium name.
The City Women squad, along with senior club and Joie executives, were in attendance at the training facility on Thursday morning to honor the milestone as they cut a large orange bow wrapped around the stadium. Following an away match against West Ham, their first WSL fixture at the Joie Stadium will be a blockbuster versus champions Chelsea.
Not only is this the largest commercial deal for the women’s squad, but it also symbolizes significant development for the club as another example of a current sponsor boosting their commitment; OKX, Asahi, and Midea are among other prominent sponsors renewing or signing enhanced terms this year. City anticipates record income of more than £700 million for the 2022/23 season, and this huge agreement will add to that total.
