Manchester United’s season has gone from bad to worse after this news was announced about Rashford
Erik ten Hag says that Marcus Rashford’s slow start to the season makes him worry.
Erik ten Hag, the boss of Manchester United, said that even though Marcus Rashford works hard to score goals, he knows he could ‘do better’.
The Red Devils have already lost four of their first seven Premier League games this season. On Saturday, they lost 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace, which was their fourth loss in seven games.
At Old Trafford, the home team didn’t have many clear-cut chances, and even though they needed a goal, Rashford was taken off and replaced by Christian Eriksen in the 77th minute.
Rashford had his best season of his career in 2022/23, when he scored 30 goals in 56 games for United. So far this season, he has only scored once in eight games.
Ten Hag talked about Rashford’s slow start to the season after the loss to Palace on Saturday.
“I think he knows he can do better than he is doing now. He works hard, and he keeps doing that. The Dutchman said, “He will score, he will finish, and it will come, but it won’t be easy.”
“He has to put a lot into it, and his team has to put a lot into it around him. We were in good situations today, but our decisions weren’t good enough, so we didn’t score.
United’s worst start to a league season in 34 years has been nine points from seven games. In that time, they’ve only scored seven goals and given up eleven.
Before the international break in October, Ten Hag’s team has two more games. On Tuesday, they play Galatasaray in the Champions League at Old Trafford. On Saturday, they play Brentford in the Premier League.
