Manchester City Midfielder Kalvin Phillips will become the most HATED player after he’s set to complete shock transfer to Premier League Rivals!

Inquiries over a January loan agreement for Kalvin Phillips have been held between Juventus and Manchester City. The Serie A team is also considering Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg of Tottenham.

Next month, Juventus will be searching for a new midfield player. Phillips and Hojbejrg are reportedly on the top of their list of potential targets.

Sky Sports News is aware that, having placed Phillips on the market, City would desire a long-term deal.

Directors are very much focused on Financial Fair Play, therefore it will be difficult for any club to match Phillips’ salary of about £7 million a year, or £135,000 a week, in the midst of the season.

After moving from Leeds for £42 million in the summer of 2022, Phillips has failed to get consistent first-team minutes. Pep Guardiola has apologised to Phillips for his lack of playing time while acknowledging he might leave.

According to Sky Sports News, City is seeking for a defensive midfield replacement for Phillips and would rather go with a young, domestic player.

In the meantime, Hojbejrg has fallen out of favour at Tottenham, and the team will need to decide whether to accept a compelling offer for the Denmark international considering that they will also be losing Yves Bissouma to AFCON during the transfer window. They will undoubtedly want a replacement on hand.

Hojbjerg was second on Manchester United’s list in the summer, behind Sofyan Amrabat, whom they acquired from Fiorentina, even though the club does not anticipate adding players in January. If Casemiro receives an offer that is too good to refuse, Hojbjerg might re-enter their consideration.

It is also believed that other English and Italian clubs, such as Napoli, are interested in signing Hojbjerg.

Conversely, Phillips is reportedly on Newcastle’s January transfer roster.

But, the Magpies would rather loan him out since they need a defensive-midfielder to fill in for Sandro Tonali, who is out due to suspension.

Another thing they have to consider is staying within their Financial Fair Play budget.

Newcastle does not have a large budget for January, but they may be able to move on with summer plans if the right deal comes up, like they did in 2022 when they signed Anthony Gordon from Everton.
