VERY SAD NEWS Has Been Announced For Chelsea THIS MORNING AFTER FA investigation in Thier last match Yesterday
Following an FA inquiry investigated him for allegedly hurling an object back into the Tottenham supporters, Raheem Sterling escaped punishment.
The 27-year-old was looked into after it seemed in a video posted on Chelsea’s official TikTok account that he was hitting teammate Cole Palmer’s leg with a missile that had been thrown down into the crowd.
Palmer had just equalised the score with a penalty kick away in north London, but Monday night’s wild 4-1 victory was sealed with a hat-trick from Nicolas Jackson in the second half.
Sterling might have missed Chelsea’s next home game against his old team, Manchester City, or the trip to Newcastle following the international break, but he has since been cleared and no further action is required.
Didier Drogba, a Chelsea icon, and Richarlison, a forward for Tottenham, are two players who have both served suspensions in the past for comparable acts.
Before the verdict was announced on Friday, Mauricio Pochettino discussed the situation at his pre-Manchester City press conference.
“I fear something to be honest but we cannot find anything and that is why we are quiet, calm and relaxed,” the manager of Chelsea stated.
“We hope that nothing is wrong and that it was a non-punitive measure. On Monday night, I saw nothing.”
