I never wanted to come to Manchester United until they did what they did. After what I saw, I change my mind immediately. It’s crazy and I have never seen such in any club before. I am sure I will win titles here”-Manuel Ugarte finally reveals why he joined Manchester United from PSG as he promises the fans more trophies

Manuel Ugarte has hinted at a potential move to Manchester United through a cryptic social media post, drawing the attention of a former United player. According to journalist Duncan Castles, Manchester United has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the Uruguayan midfielder. The deal is reportedly valued at an initial €50 million, with an additional €10 million in performance-related bonuses. Ugarte is expected to head to England shortly to complete his medical.

If the transfer is completed, Ugarte will be United’s fifth signing this summer, joining Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, and Matthijs de Ligt. The 23-year-old recently fueled speculation about the move by posting a mysterious eyes emoji on social media, which garnered 34,000 likes within an hour. His national teammate and former United winger, Facundo Pellistri, responded to the post with emojis, including a red heart. Pellistri recently left United to join Greek side Panathinaikos.

Negotiations for Ugarte’s transfer were reportedly complex, with PSG initially demanding a fixed €60 million fee. United briefly pulled out of the talks but later returned and reached a deal that includes add-ons. As part of the agreement, PSG secured a 10% sell-on clause.

United’s pursuit of Ugarte was made possible by their decision to sell Scott McTominay to Napoli for €30 million. McTominay’s exit, pending personal terms, will mark the end of his 22-year association with Manchester United, where he rose through the academy to become a key first-team player under several managers, including Erik ten Hag.
