Chelsea is interested in signing a striker with 46 goals and 15 assists from the Premier League in January.
Journalist Simon Phillips claims that Chelsea is interested in acquiring Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa in January.
In his most recent podcast, he revealed that Chelsea is considering a number of possibilities, including the Aston Villa player, in order to strengthen their attack in January.
According to him (and The Chelsea Chronicle),
“It’s clear that Dusan Vlahovic was considered in the summer. He remains there. Lille’s Jonathan David. Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa is the last.
“Those are the names Chelsea is looking at for the January window,” the source told me this week.
Over the years, Watkins has been a productive striker for Villa. In 122 games with Villa in all competitions, the Englishman has 46 goals and 15 assists. In addition, he has already recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in 6 games this season.
His statistics are impressive, and he has a lot of Premier League experience under his belt, so Pochettino might find him to be a good addition.
