Mauricio Pochettino is SET to Terminate the Contract of €60 Million FLOP After failed Transfer Exit from the Club
Marc Cucurella, a defender for Chelsea, now risks expulsion due to his failed transfer to Manchester United.
Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah might be shunned at Stamford Bridge, claims the Evening Standard.
The 25-year-old’s loan to United during the summer transfer window fell through, according to the same report, leaving him in an undesirable situation at Chelsea.
Since joining the team in 2020, Ben Chilwell has been Chelsea’s first-choice left-back, and even though he isn’t currently playing there, Mauricio Pochettino has kept Cucurella on the bench.
To demonstrate how far from his manager’s ideas Cucurella is currently, the Argentine has been starting Chilwell further ahead of him and putting Levi Colwill at left-back in place of him.
Marc Cucurella is unlikely to play this season for Chelsea.
If Pochettino began to leave Cucurella, who cost Chelsea over £60 million, out of the matchday squad, it wouldn’t come as a surprise.
As was already mentioned, the former PSG and Tottenham Hotspur manager has Ian Maatsen as well as Chilwell and Colwill, who can both play left-back.
Cucurella badly struggled at Chelsea the previous season, therefore he wasn’t going to start the current season as a lock.
When speaking about one of Cucurella’s performances on Sky Sports last season, Jamie Carragher said, “I wasn’t happy with Cucurella right throughout that second half until he came off.”
Overall, Cucurella might have benefited from a loan move to United or another team, especially given the likelihood that he won’t see much action at Stamford Bridge right now.
The former Brighton resident might have found it easier to regain his confidence in a new setting.
