VERY SAD Pep Guardiola News has been announced this Morning, Manchester City squad is in trouble
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has been connected to the position of England manager, and Gary Lineker has expressed his opinion on the likelihood of it happening.
There are currently no plans to change management.
However, there were rumors last week that Southgate would resign from his position after the 2024 Summer Olympics.
And it was suggested the FA could potentially try and make a beeline for Guardiola, given his unbelievable success at City.
And now, Gary Lineker has offered his thoughts about that possibility…
Gary Lineker reacts to Pep Guardiola-England link
Lineker was speaking on the The Rest Is Football podcast about England, along with Alan Shearer and Micah Richards.
His current contract expires in the summer of 2025. And City fans are very much hoping that he will stick around until at least then.
Many are hoping to see him complete a decade at the club.
Hard to see Pep wanting to manage England
Guardiola becoming the next England manager after Southgate feels pretty unlikely.
The 52-year-old has been a club manager his whole career. You get the feeling that he just loves the consuming nature of that.
The trio were dissecting the latest 1-1 result against Ukraine on Saturday.
Lineker added, “Even Pep has been linked with the job which I’d be very surprised if he did!” in reference to Pep possibly taking over as the Three Lions manager in the future.
At the Etihad, Guardiola is now playing in his sixth season.
Guardiola is devoted to his job and lives for sports.
The requirements for international football are different. It wouldn’t include the never-ending effort that he adores so much.
But who can say? Guardiola may believe that achieving managerial success on a global scale will firmly establish him as the best manager to have ever lived.
VERY SAD Pep Guardiola News was released this morning, indicating that the Manchester City team is in difficulty.
This morning, Gary Lineker just confirmed it.
