After failing to come to terms on a new deal, Chelsea might be without Ian Maatsen, 21, by the January transfer window.
The Netherlands international and the Stamford bridge team have not been able to come to terms on a new contract, according to the Telegraph.
The young player’s contract is slated to expire at the end of the current campaign, so if a deal is not reached by the end of the year, the Blues may think about selling him in the January transfer window.
Maatsen turned down the opportunity to join the team on the final day of the transfer window when Chelsea accepted a £31.5 million offer for the full-back, despite having spent last season on loan at Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.
This season, Ian Maatsen has played three times as a substitute for Mauricio Pochettino’s team in the Premier League, starting twice for Chelsea against Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
