“Maybe they’re missing Kevin De Bruyne and…….”- Arsenal Captain Martin Odegard mocks Pep Guardiola and Man City after losing to Wolves in the weekend as he revealed ONE major point why this is Arsenal’s YEAR as they prepare for Champions League game against RC Lens
“Maybe they don’t have Kevin De Bruyne and…….”Martin Odegard, the captain of Arsenal, made fun of Pep Guardiola and Man City after they lost to Wolves over the weekend. He did this as the team got ready to play RC Lens in the Champions League.
Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, talks about Manchester City’s loss to Wolves.
Martin Odegaard isn’t too excited about Manchester City’s shocking loss to Wolves on Saturday, and he says Arsenal is only thinking about themselves before next week’s match.
The Gunners are the only team in the Premier League that hasn’t lost yet this season. Their rivals in north London, Spurs, have lost in the Carabao Cup, but they are still perfect in the league.
While Arsenal was easily beating Bournemouth 4-0 on the road, reigning winners City were struggling at Molineux.
Pep Guardiola’s team fell behind early when Ruben Dias scored an own goal. Julian Alvarez tied the score at the hour mark, but Hwang Hee-chan put Wolves back in front minutes later as Wolves held on for a 2-1 win.
Even though they lost, City are still on top of the Premier League table because they have one more point than both Spurs and Arsenal.
But they will go to the Emirates next weekend without Kevin De Bruyne, who is out with an injury, and Rodri, who is out with a suspension. They will also be coming off a hugely poor result.
Arsenal still has to go to Lens on Tuesday for a Champions League game, but Odegaard is already ready to play City.
Odegaard told football.london with a smile, “I just heard.” He was asked when he found out that City had lost to Wolves. Again, though, we need to pay attention to ourselves.
“This league is so tough, you say, that anyone can beat anyone else. You have to be sharp and ready for every game, and your schedule is so full right now.”
“So we need to pay attention to ourselves. Make sure we’re ready for next week.’
‘I think every game is a big game,’ he said.
“First, we’re in the Champions League, so we have to be ready for that. After that, we’ll see what happens, but for us, every game is a big one.”
When asked about playing City next week, manager Mikel Arteta said, “I feel great because we won the game. That’s the only thing we can control. I’m just thinking on that bus about how we can prepare Lens.”
“It’s going to be a really tough match away from home on Tuesday to try to win it, and City will be the next step, but it’s taking a lot of good things and moving them for Tuesday, and again trying to make the right decision with the lineup and squad to keep up the level we’re showing.”
