What the Chelsea coach says about why Mudryk is being dropped
Chelsea’s official app has a conversation with Mauricio Pochettino about his choice to start Raheem Sterling instead of Mykhailo Mudryk.
The coach said Sterling is ready to go even though he just got over a virus. The player who used to play for Liverpool did well early in the season and should be very driven to get his spot back.
The Chelsea manager said, “Raheem comes in after getting over a virus, and we know what he can offer us from the start.”
“We don’t need to change our strategy; we just need to switch out one good player for another.”
Even though both players are good, Pochettino says that the strategy that worked so well on Monday doesn’t need to be changed.
We understand everything. While Mudryk has done well in his last few starts, a player like him who relies on speed and explosion is always ready to be replaced. Sterling is a young but experienced player who could possibly step in and do some serious damage.
While Mudryk is on the bench, he is ready to help the team out if they need it in the second half.
