VERY SAD Nicholas Jackson News has been announced this Afternoon by Pochetino following his international call up
Nicolas Jackson leaves the Senegal team to attend to a hand injury.
Senegal called up Nicolas Jackson for the international break, but he has now left the team to attend to a hand issue that has been bothering him for a few weeks. Jackson was replaced by Brighton & Hove Albion striker Abdallah Sima, who is presently on loan at Scottish club Rangers.
In fact, Jackson injured his hand in that League Cup match against Brighton approximately halfway through the first half when he landed awkwardly after attempting to take a shot while also being under pressure from Carlos Baleba. Jackson continued to play despite having his right hand tightly bandaged up, and early in the second half, he actually scored the game’s lone goal.
Jackson played (and scored again) against Burnley last weekend after being suspended from the match against Fulham. This time, he was wearing a full-on splint to keep the damaged limb immobile.
I suppose he has finally made the decision to properly handle this issue during the vacation. He won’t be out of action for Chelsea for long, but let’s hope he can continue to score in each game even without his fortunate bandages.
