VERY SAD Gareth Southgate News has been announced this Afternoon after his behaviour at the training ground today

Former FA technical director suggests manager who would be the best Southgate replacement.

Les Reed, a former technical director for the FA, has suggested who he believes would be the best England manager after Gareth Southgate.

Southgate has received a lot of criticism recently, seriously jeopardising his position as England’s manager, particularly in the wake of the team’s elimination by France from the 2022 World Cup.

And Les Reed thinks Lee Carsley should succeed Southgate as manager of England’s under-21 team if they want to prevent wasting another great generation.

Through The Sun, he stated:

Through The Sun, he stated:

“Because he knew them, Gareth transitioned a lot of U21 players into the setup.”

“We shouldn’t have thought about Gareth Southgate if we don’t take Lee Carsley into account.”

“We had a team that was talented enough to win the World Cup, but we did not take advantage of that ability. We choose to manage celebrities as hobbies.

“Don’t get me wrong — we know Pep Guardiola has the potential to bring the best out of players if he is enthusiastic about the position and wants the job. However, it’s not a side job. It’s not, “Now that I’ve won everything, let’s try international football.” That has happened previously.

In the summer, Carsley led the England Under-21 team to a 1-0 victory over Spain in the final to win their first European championship in 19 years.
