“He is pivotal to City and massively underrated. They are not the same without him and he is better than Kelvin De Bruyne but he is underrated”-Trent Alexander-Arnold admits £63m Man City player is ‘massively underrated

Trent Alexander-Arnold has said that Manchester City midfielder Rodri is a player he admires and considers “very underrated”.

The international break has begun and many of City’s stars will be flying out to join their national team.

Rodri – who cost Man City around £63 million – will play for Spain in their final Euro 2024 qualifying match against Cyprus and Georgia this week.

Hopefully Rodri can stay safe, because this season has shown his importance to Man City.

This has not escaped Liverpool full-back Alexander-Arnold, who believes the 27-year-old is ‘essential’ to Pep Guardiola.

Trent Alexander-Arnold claims Manchester star Rodri City, “massively underrated” .

The season, Rodri once again excelled for Man City.

He picked up a needless red card against Nottingham Forest before the last international break, resulting in him missing three games.

City lost all the games he was not available for.

It became clear during that tricky period just how influential he is.

In the eyes of Alexander-Arnold, he is so key for City and still not completely rated as perhaps he should be.

The 25-year-old, who has recently started to play in midfield himself at Anfield, said (via Daily Mail): “I admire Rodri.

He is essential to City and massively underrated.

They wouldn’t be the same without him.

Last week, Pep himself said that he could not deny Rodri’s importance to him.

Josko Gvardiol also recently said Rodri blew him away with his ball control.

Rodri is the best midfielder today It’s nice to hear Trent praise Rodri like that.

He is perhaps not the only top player to have such an opinion about the City maestro.

Somehow, it does still feel as though Rodri is underrated.

He does absolutely everything you could want your holding midfielder to do.

He even offers a genuine attacking threat now, as evidenced by the four goals and five assists he’s got so far this term.
