Mauricio Pochettino has said that giving up a lot of goals is sometimes a part of playing exciting football.

This is what the Argentine said after Chelsea beat Brighton 3-2 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues were ahead 2-0 in the first half, but Facundo Buonanotte scored to tie the game. The guests later scored again in the 92nd minute after Enzo Fernandez’s penalty in the second half.

After just 14 games, Chelsea has already given up 22 league goals this season, which is twice as many as the league leaders, Arsenal.

It was very emotional, though, and Pochettino said after the win at Stamford Bridge, “I am so tired. We needed the three points and we got them.” There you have it: football is fun. That’s really cool to see. There were two really great games in the last few weeks, which is why the Premier League is the best league in the world and why we all want to be here: it’s fun.
