Mauricio Pochettino discusses Chelsea’s defeat to Everton.
After Reece James walked off with a hamstring injury earlier in the game, the Blues were defeated by two second-half goals from Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin.
Chelsea had plenty of possession and produced a few nice chances, but it was another afternoon of toil with nothing to show for it.
After losing to Manchester United and the Toffees in consecutive weeks, the Blues have now dropped to 12th in the Premier League table.
Pochettino commented on BBC Match of the Day after the loss at Goodison Park, “Football is about scoring goals, and we were not clinical in front of goal.”
“I’m quite disappointed. We did not receive the point that we deserved. We were probably superior, but we didn’t get what we desired.
“This was a game to be played and won.” We need to look at this. We must examine the facts. We need to talk about it and attempt to do better in the future transfer market.”
