After being benched in Everton’s loss, Thiago Silva speaks up.
Even though the 39-year-old Silva did not play in the game, Silva’s message to the fans via “X” following the defeat at Goodison Park shows that the players are also under pressure.
“We are the first ones disappointed by the recent results, and we are aware that they have not been good,” was his statement on the platform. There are no justifications; we simply need to keep striving to see the Chelsea that we all desire. It’s time to band together and get through this together. I’ll see you on Saturday! @ChelseaFC.
Chelsea will now get ready to play Sheffield United, who are now at the bottom of the standings, this Saturday at Stamford Bridge with the hopes of returning to winning ways.
Thiago Silva speaks up following his benching during Everton’s loss.
In a statement to Chelsea supporters, Thiago Silva acknowledged that the team’s performance hasn’t been great lately.
Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Everton came just a few days after Manchester United had thrashed the Blues 2-1 at Old Trafford.
The outcome almost guaranteed Chelsea’s decline to 12th place in the Premier League standings, increasing the gap between them and the top four to 14 points.
Additionally, Chelsea has only triumphed once in their previous five games, which has put Mauricio Pochettino under a lot of strain.
