Enzo Fernandez shuts exit rumours down with telling celebration after scoring against Aston Villa

Enzo Fernandez has denied suggestions that he is quitting Chelsea after scoring a fantastic free kick against Aston Villa.

On Wednesday night, Chelsea came at Villa Park hoping to put their recent poor run behind them and win a crucial FA Cup fourth-round rematch against Unai Emery’s Villa.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side took a 2-0 lead due to Connor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson.

Pochettino is under increased pressure to produce better results following Chelsea’s recent defeats to Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Many anticipated Villa to outperform their opponents, but Emery’s side struggled from the start.

In the second half, Argentine midfielder Fernandez unleashed a fantastic free-kick into the top corner of Emiliano Martinez’s goal, making it 3-0 for the Blues.

Fernandez celebrated his goa by taking off his shirt and showing it to the camera.

The midfielder then pointed his fingers and appeared to indicate that he would be staying with the club.

This follows rumours linking him with a move away from Chelsea, despite only joining a year ago.

Despite the rising pressure, Pochettino believes he can turn things around.

He stated, “I believe we are all in this together, and that is important.” I received a very good text from the owners.

“Of course I am in contact with them and the sporting director every day.”

Pochettino stated, “We need to build a strong relationship with the fans. Fans must understand that when they visit Stamford Bridge, they will see a different Chelsea, a different project, and a different everything. It is the job of both the players and the staff to establish a relationship, something in common that they value.

“The fans need to understand that we truly care about the team. I can assure you and the fans that the players want to perform and win games.”
