Man United News And Transfer News | The Peoples Person: Sir Jim Ratcliffe “dreams” of “giving the reins” of Man United to Zinedine Zidane
As Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United becomes more and more questionable, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly keen to bring in former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
On Sunday, United lost 2-1 to Fulham at Old Trafford, their tenth defeat of the Premier League season.
Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi goals inflicted further suffering on Ten Hag and made sure the Dutchman is under constant strain.
Apart from the outcome, Ten Hag has also faced criticism about United’s style of play—or rather, lack thereof.
The Cottagers were a terrible team to play against, and the Red Devils lost that game. The team has just not performed convincingly enough, even in victories.
Gary Neville recently discussed Ten Hag and the fact that, with INEOS gone through the door, he has an uphill struggle to maintain his job.
The legend of United stated that players like Sir Dave Brailsford and Daniel Ratcliffe might have already decided on Ten Hag and are simply holding out for the proper opportunity to announce their choice.
The 20-time English champions and Julian Nagelsmann have already been connected. Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton has also been suggested as a possible applicant for the position.
Landing Zidane is Ratcliffe’s ultimate goal, according to Foot Mercato.
“Focusing on lofty goals, Sir Jim Ratcliffe will stop at nothing to return Manchester United to the pinnacle of English and European football.” The INEOS CEO wants Zinedine Zidane to lead his team rather than Erik Ten Hag in order to accomplish this.
“The billionaire has not formally endorsed the present coach, Erik Ten Hag, who is under fire. This is bad news, particularly because INEOS is reportedly trying to find a new head coach to help Manchester United win an English championship for the first time in eleven years.
“According to our information, INEOS simply dreams of giving Zinedine Zidane the reins of Manchester United,” the tabloid continues.
While Zidane had previously been considered at United, Santi Aouna and Sebastien Denis add that things are quite different this time around.
United now brag about Jean-Claude Blanc’s impact. While at Paris Saint-Germain, Blanc made an attempt to entice Zidane to join the dominant team in Ligue 1.
It is said that Blanc has a great deal of respect for the 51-year-old coach.
Most people agree that Zidane was among the best players of his generation. He won two La Liga titles, three UEFA Champions League crowns, two Supercopa de España medals, and the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup in 2016 and 2017 while managing Real Madrid.
