Inter Miami Star and Argentina International Lionel Messi has confirmed this evening that his Argentina teammate with £80 million release clause has decided to Join Barcelona over Chelsea in shocking scene
Paulo Dybala, Lionel Messi’s Argentina colleague, reportedly wants to follow in the Barcelona icon’s footsteps and join the La Liga giants.
According to SPORT, Dybala has offered himself to Barcelona. The Argentine forward is now with AS Roma and has just over a year remaining on his contract.
Dybala, 30, has a €12 million release clause in his contract and has shown an interest in moving to Spain. He’s been in great form this season, with 13 goals and seven assists in 26 appearances across tournaments.
Barcelona, on the other hand, does not consider Dybala a priority, but they do accept him as an alternative. The Catalan giants appear to be on the verge of rebuilding under whoever takes over for Xavi at the end of the season.
Dybala may have learned a thing or two about the Blaugrana while playing for the Argentina national team alongside Messi. Barcelona’s all-time leading goalscorer previously waxed poetic about the Roma striker, predicting a bright future.
In 2016, Lionel Messi allegedly told former La Abiceleste and Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino:
Barcelona may attempt to revive their offence this summer following a poor 2023-24 season. Robert Lewandowski has struggled to find consistency, and Vitor Roque, 19, only joined Camp Nou last summer.
Paulo Dybala claimed that Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi deserves to win the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
Lionel Messi won the Ballon d’Or last year, bringing his total to eight, three more than his longstanding adversary Cristiano Ronaldo. Six of his Ballons d’Or came during his stay in Barcelona.
However, Messi’s victory last year was debatable due to Erling Haaland’s successful season with Manchester City. The iconic forward received his eighth award for his heroics at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as he led Argentina to victory in Qatar.
Dybala was convinced that Messi deserved to win the Ballon d’Or and that he would retire as the best player in history. He stated last December:
