‘He doesn’t know’ -Erling Haaland brutally hits back at Alexander-Arnold after Man City spending dig Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold said that their trophies in recent years mean more to their fans than Manchester City’s successes, because of the ‘financial’ situations of both clubs.

Erling Haaland has countered Trent Alexander-Arnold’s criticism of Manchester City’s spending by underlining the significance of winning titles, especially ahead of the pivotal Premier League clash between City and Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. With Liverpool narrowly leading City by just one point after 27 games, this upcoming match could heavily influence the championship race come May.

City’s dominance, with five title wins in the last six seasons, stands in stark contrast to Liverpool’s sole Premier League triumph in 2019-20. Alexander-Arnold recently suggested that Liverpool’s achievements under Klopp carry more weight due to the financial disparities between the clubs.

However, Haaland, City’s forward, dismissed Alexander-Arnold’s comments by highlighting the sheer thrill of lifting trophies, particularly the treble, which he savored last season. He implied that Alexander-Arnold may not fully grasp such sensations. Haaland’s retort suggests that while opinions are valid, Alexander-Arnold’s viewpoint might lack the firsthand experience of clinching major titles.

Looking forward to Sunday’s showdown, Haaland subtly reminded Liverpool of their absence from last season’s title race, insinuating that they weren’t genuine contenders. Nonetheless, he acknowledged Liverpool’s current status as league leaders and anticipated a fiercely competitive match. Haaland underscored the abundance of talent in the Premier League and expressed confidence in City’s capacity to mount another title challenge, notwithstanding the daunting nature of the task.
