Man Utd ‘Could go Big’ in their pursuit of young talent Leny Yoro! The Red Devils are eyeing the French sensation to bolster their defense. Stay tuned for more updates!
Manchester United are eyeing 18-year-old Lille defender Leny Yoro, but discussions for the centre-back have yet to progress, as Yoro is holding out for a potential move to Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are looking to bring in new talents during the first summer transfer window under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, with a focus on young, promising players such as Yoro.
The young French defender has attracted interest from several Premier League and European clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool. However, Romano reports that Yoro is hoping to fulfill his dream of joining Real Madrid, potentially following in the footsteps of Kylian Mbappe.
With only a year remaining on his contract with Lille, Yoro is expected to leave the club after helping them secure fourth place in Ligue 1 and a spot in the Champions League. Lille is demanding £50 million for Yoro, and it is uncertain if United are willing to invest that amount in a player who may not yet be ready for Premier League action.
Romano mentions on his YouTube channel that multiple clubs, including Manchester United, are closely monitoring Yoro’s situation. He states, “The player is waiting for Real Madrid, but other clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation. Manchester United appreciates and likes Leny Yoro, but there hasn’t been any advanced progress between Yoro and United yet. The interest is genuine, so we’ll see if United decide to pursue this further.”
Yoro, who has been likened to William Saliba, had an impressive season at Lille, playing the second-most minutes for Paulo Fonseca’s side in Ligue 1. Analyst Ben Mattinson has praised Yoro’s performance, describing him as playing at an “insane level” and predicting he could become a future “Galactico.” This summer is set to be pivotal for Yoro as he aims to resolve his future before representing France at the Paris Olympics, having been called up by coach Thierry Henry.
In addition to their interest in Yoro, Manchester United are reportedly in ‘concrete talks’ to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee. Manager Erik ten Hag is keen on bringing the Dutchman to Old Trafford next season. Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Zirkzee is a top target for United as they seek to bolster their attack alongside Rasmus Hojlund. The 23-year-old impressed in Serie A last season with 11 goals and five assists in 34 appearances for Bologna.
