By mercilessly mocking Erik Ten Hag, Arne Slot has successfully earned the hearts of the internet today. For those who are followers of Manchester United, it is strongly recommended that you refrain from viewing this. 😭😂

The Dutch manager handed Manchester United a crushing 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford in September, a loss so devastating that many home fans began leaving before the final whistle.

Wasting no time in exposing his rival’s weaknesses, the 46-year-old quickly unraveled Erik ten Hag’s flawed tactical approach after the match.

The resurgence of Ryan Gravenberch, another player Ten Hag once overlooked during their time at Ajax, adds further criticism to the United manager’s decisions. But was this enough to satisfy Arne Slot ahead of their January rematch? Not at all.

Slot, formerly of Feyenoord, couldn’t resist taking a subtle dig at Ten Hag during his press conference before the Bologna game.

In comments shared on social media by Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele, Slot hinted that Liverpool’s rivals are a “lower-tier” team in the league standings.

Arne Slot, with what seemed like a cheeky comment directed at United: “People keep telling me it’s tougher to beat a top-tier team than a lower one – and we haven’t faced the former yet.”

In Slot’s defense, his point seems quite valid.

If you’re wondering whether Ten Hag’s tenure at United should continue, here’s an interesting stat. https://t.co/UvIbtKvEfo

United were completely out of sync during the Old Trafford clash, failing to control the midfield.

This was especially clear when comparing Ryan Gravenberch’s stats. The Dutch midfielder secured just six fewer ground duel wins (7) than Manchester United’s entire starting midfield (13).

Despite several summer signings, Ten Hag’s inability to define a coherent identity for a club that has struggled since Alex Ferguson’s exit remains a pressing issue.

Perhaps it’s time to consider offering the Dutch manager a new contract!
