By mercilessly mocking Erik Ten Hag, Arne Slot has successfully earned the hearts of the internet today. For those who are followers of Manchester United, it is strongly recommended that you refrain from viewing this. šŸ˜šŸ˜‚

The Dutch manager handed Manchester United a crushing 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford in September, a loss so devastating that many home fans began leaving before the final whistle.

Wasting no time in exposing his rivalā€™s weaknesses, the 46-year-old quickly unraveled Erik ten Hagā€™s flawed tactical approach after the match.

The resurgence of Ryan Gravenberch, another player Ten Hag once overlooked during their time at Ajax, adds further criticism to the United managerā€™s decisions. But was this enough to satisfy Arne Slot ahead of their January rematch? Not at all.

Slot, formerly of Feyenoord, couldnā€™t resist taking a subtle dig at Ten Hag during his press conference before the Bologna game.

In comments shared on social media by Daily Mailā€™s Lewis Steele, Slot hinted that Liverpoolā€™s rivals are a ā€œlower-tierā€ team in the league standings.

Arne Slot, with what seemed like a cheeky comment directed at United: ā€œPeople keep telling me itā€™s tougher to beat a top-tier team than a lower one ā€“ and we havenā€™t faced the former yet.ā€

In Slotā€™s defense, his point seems quite valid.

If youā€™re wondering whether Ten Hagā€™s tenure at United should continue, hereā€™s an interesting stat. https://t.co/UvIbtKvEfo

United were completely out of sync during the Old Trafford clash, failing to control the midfield.

This was especially clear when comparing Ryan Gravenberchā€™s stats. The Dutch midfielder secured just six fewer ground duel wins (7) than Manchester Unitedā€™s entire starting midfield (13).

Despite several summer signings, Ten Hagā€™s inability to define a coherent identity for a club that has struggled since Alex Fergusonā€™s exit remains a pressing issue.

Perhaps itā€™s time to consider offering the Dutch manager a new contract!
